Welcome to the ISSGA Website
The Indiana State Seniors Golf Association, Inc. is an organization of amateur golfers who have reached the age of fifty -five and enjoy the competition and comradeship of golf. The association was started by a small group of golfers in 1929 and has grown to more than 800 members. Senior golfers residing in Indiana may request a membership application form through the Contact Us link above.
Annually, the association holds sixteen tournaments open to its members between the first of May and the first week of October each year. Tournaments are held at some of the finest country clubs and golf courses in Indiana. Twelve of the tournaments are stroke play format and four are various team formats. Prizes are awarded for both low gross and low net scores in all events.
Members contribute annually to the Evans Scholars Foundation. ISSGA members usually contribute approximately two thousand dollars per year.
In 2005, Stoops Buick - GMC of Plainfield, Indiana became a corporate sponsor of our tournament series. Their sponsorship provides for upgrading the quality of our tournaments, improving administrative functions, and helping to supplement member charitable contributions. Season Long Competition Awards > May 16
Again this year, we will have a season long competition within the classes. Gross and Net awards of cash or golf related prize will be given in the five classes and overall winners to the players with the lowest average score for five stroke play tournaments during the season. A players class will be to determined at the start of the season and used throughout the year. Players who play in more than five stroke tournaments during the season, we will use the lowest five scores for their average. Each of the two rounds of the Championship will be considered as a stroke play tournament for this competition. Players will automatically be considered in both Gross and Net competition. If a player in either category has the low average for both gross and net, he will be awarded the low gross prize and the low net prize will be awarded to the second low net player. The competition will start with the Bridgewater Tournament and end with Crooked Stick.
Since 1953 the Bill Kingdon Trophy was established following the ISSGA Presidency of Bill Kingdon. The winner of this award is determined by combining four gross scores for a member. The four scores are the lowest stroke play tournament score in May, June, July, and the first round of the Championship Tournament. The member with the lowest four round total will have his name added to the Trophy. In the case of a tie, the second day of the Championship will be used as a tie-breaker.
Finally, receipt of gift certificates of winners of our tournaments on a timely bases has created some confusion in the past years. This year, we are starting a new policy in distributing these certificates. Winners can pick up their certificates at the next tournament. If the player is not playing or fails to pick up his certificate, they will be mailed out the next day. This will eliminate holding certificates until the recipient plays in another tournament.

Note: The "closed" date is the date that the original tournament was full.
For tournaments with no additional day, if you sent your check in after the original tournament was closed, you can assume that you are on the alternate list. I will notify you at least 30 days prior to the tournament if you are an alternate.
For tournaments with an additional day, if you sent your check in after the original tournament was closed, you can assume that you have the option of playing the second day. Scores from the additional day will be included in the original day's players' scores to complete the tournament. Thirty days prior to the tournament, I will notify you of your status -- whether you are playing the first day or whether you have the option of playing the second day. Note: It is possible that I will have too many players vs. tee times for the second day. If that happens, I will rely on the date that I received your check to determine the field.
I hope this helps to update you on the status of the tournaments for the rest of the season.
